Fixing Chipped Teeth With Bonding
A cosmetic dentist’s toolkit is filled with tools for fixing most dental issues, such as chipped teeth. In this post from Town Dental Group in Mint Hill, we’ll describe one that doesn’t get as much attention as other procedures, but is very versatile: dental bonding.
Dental bonding involves a resin material that is applied to teeth. It can also be used to fix cracks, to close gaps between teeth, as an alternate to conventional fillings for cavities.
The bonding material is applied to the teeth while soft and putty-like, and then hardened (or cured) with a special light. The material bonds with the tooth and can then be shaped and polished. A Spokane dentist name Dr. Smith adds that with how easy and fast it to repair teeth with dental bonding is why many dentist like to use dental bonding for patients.
It takes about half an hour to complete most bonding procedures, depending on what we’re doing. When two or more teeth are involved we may want to schedule several appointments.
